Anna Matsuoka (Hotel journalist, Self-styled “sommelier of comfort in accommodations”)

Born and raised in a Nordic-style home, my sensitivity toward the essential “flavor” inherent to living spaces,
such as their level of comfort or beauty, was honed naturally.
With a passion for “comfort in accommodations” that has endured ever since,
one of my pleasures in life is staying in a wide range of hotels
and apartments both in Japan and abroad throughout the year.

After graduating from Sophia University with a degree in French,
I came to know the difficulty of finding one’s way to the very best lodgings
when visiting a travel destination for the first time
as I travelled the world for business while employed in foreign trade.
My hope is to offer information from a guest’s perspective to like-minded world travellers,
drawing on my own actual lodging experiences.
